Linguistics

The Linguistics program at U of T explores the structure, meaning, and use of language across cultures and societies. Students develop skills in analyzing speech sounds, word formation, sentence structure, language variation, and language acquisition, while engaging with areas like phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.
