About the Program

Final International University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Preschool Teaching Program, with its 4-year undergraduate program, is based on contemporary approaches in teacher training. The program started in the 2016-2017 academic year and it aims to train qualified teachers who can organize teaching activities in line with contemporary teaching techniques and technological developments, use different teaching methods and strategies in teaching processes, benefit from contemporary assessment and evaluation methods, and follow the work done in their field. To this end, the curriculum includes courses that aim to ensure the professional development of students, as well as field knowledge and general culture.

Our vision is to ensure that our students have a diploma at the highest level of respect and acceptance at national and international levels when they graduate and that they contribute to their country and the whole of humanity in their professional lives by using the knowledge and skills they have gained during their education.

Mission

At International Final University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Special Education Teaching Program, our mission is to ensure that our students gain the professional knowledge, skills, and values ​​preschool teachers should have. The program also helps them reach a high level of competence and self-confidence to carry out their professions effectively. In addition, it is also part of our mission to provide our learners with 21st-century skills such as learning and innovation, information and communication technology, life and career, research, and inquiry.

Program Aims and Outcomes

The aim of the IFU Pre-School Teaching program is to train qualified preschool teachers who can follow up-to-date studies and have the skills and equipment to respond to the needs of the age.

The competencies (learning outcomes) that should be acquired by the graduates of IFU Faculty of Educational Science, Pre-School Teaching Program can be listed as follows:

• Evaluates the structure and functioning of the Turkish and TRNC education systems, including their relations with the preschool field. S/he acts in accordance with the requirements of the laws, regulations, and other documents regarding the roles, duties, and responsibilities imposed by the systems in question.
• Uses the concepts and terms of preschool education correctly and associates them with professional practices.
• Is aware that children in the preschool education process may have individual development differences and difficulties. He/she resolves these differences and difficulties; demonstrates the knowledge and skills to implement practices that will support children both at school and at home.
• Uses the field knowledge and experience acquired in education and training activities; establishes connections between the preschool field and other disciplines.
• Knows to evaluate the physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs of children in the preschool education process and their families. In order to respond to these needs, he/she makes use of the opportunities available both within and outside the school system.
• Works alone or as a team member in the processes of assessment, application, problem-solving, and determining the needs of the student in the preschool field.
• Is aware of current scientific research and technological developments in his/her field and makes use of them in their applications.
• Strives for continuous improvement and uses the knowledge and experience gained in the field of preschool teaching to achieve future career goals.
• Uses written and spoken native language effectively; uses a second language at a level to follow international literature in his/her field and communicate with colleagues.
• Develops a positive attitude towards lifelong learning, change, innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and questioning.
• Includes artistic, sportive, and cultural activities in the education program in line with the student's needs.
• Develops social responsibility awareness. With this awareness, he/she becomes sensitive and contributes to the institution where he/she works and the environment he/she lives in.
• Is sensitive to cultural differences and the diversity of social groups. He/she takes an active part in social life.
• With the awareness of children's rights and human rights, and by acting in accordance with ethical values in all kinds of studies, he/she establishes personal and institutional interaction in order to develop and maintain a safe school and living environment.
• Uses information production and analysis methods and necessary tools and equipment effectively in activity areas such as education, application, and research.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the program can be employed in public and private kindergartens in TRNC, TR and third countries, child development departments of state vocational high schools, and private educational institutions. Graduates of Final International University will be able to have priority and privileged employment opportunities at kindergartens and preschool education centers affiliated with Final Education Institutions.
