About the Program
The School of Physical Education and Sports was established in 2015 and opened its doors to students at the beginning of the 2016-2017 academic year with the activation of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teacher Training.
Program Aim and Outcomes
Aim
The main aim of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching program is to train physical education teachers who will exhibit self-confidence and social awareness, and ethical values, be able to adapt themselves to today's rapidly changing information flow and technology and transfer knowledge and skills within their environments. The program aims additionally to educate sportsmen in all branches, as well as leisure-time instructors able to actively work in public and private organizations in accordance with the needs of the era. The program is intended to provide world-class professional qualifications and a high level of academic competence.
Mission
The School of Physical Education and Sports actively participates in the physical, sporting, and academic activities of both individuals and the community with a view to actively raising their life quality, of and by providing scientific support to the island, to take national and international sporting success is carried to the highest possible level.
Vision
The School aims to be a trusted institution, serving in the fields of Physical Education and Sports and developing the quality of life at regional, national, and international levels in both education and research.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the program can work as "Physical Education Teachers" in public and private institutions and organizations. Graduates who decide on an academic career can work in academic and administrative positions in universities in North Cyprus and Turkey after completing their master's and doctoral education.
Graduates can also be employed in public and private kindergartens and day-care centers in North Cyprus and Turkey and third countries, in child development departments of state-owned vocational high schools, and in private educational institutions.
Requirement
A copy of your High School Diploma (O LEVEL & A LEVEL) e.g (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE)
A copy of your International passport Bio-data page.
A copy of your recent Passport Photo.
A valid copy of your Result Checker Card.
All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of five (5) credits, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, SAT, KCSE, ZIMSEC, GCE).
Fees
* Fees include scholarship, registration, social activity, and all taxes.
* The Student Permit fee of approx. USD $100, which also includes Annual Health Insurance, is payable directly to the TRNC Ministry of Health.
