Description
Program Overview
The MSc in Computing is a taught postgraduate course aimed at excellent students who may not have studied computing so far but who are keen to acquire core computing skills or deepen their existing knowledge of computing.
Applicants who want to add computing qualifications or who want to retrain as computing or IT professionals are the natural target for this course. The expectation of graduates is that this course enables them to take on employment that requires computing skills as part of their job description.
This course is also a suitable preparation for Ph.D. studies. Some graduates of the course go on to embark on a Ph.D. within the Department and beyond.
The program provides opportunities for postgraduate students to develop and demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in basic and specialized topics in computing, to develop and demonstrate the qualities and skills needed for group cooperation as well as for literature search, technical presentation, and report writing, and to join in the development of a large software project.
