Can I Work in Austria With a Student Visa?

Yes, there is provision for that. However, you must apply for a special C or D student visa that allows you to get a work permit. Without this visa, students from third-countries can not work during the course of their studies. Do I need a residence permit to study in Austria?

If you entered Austria with a D student visa you can apply for a residence permit- Student, which will allow you to continue your studies as long needed and you will not need to apply for an entry visa if you renew your permit.
